What is the Mission?

The Mission are projects created to bring yoga to the country by providing financial, academic, and moral support. Individuals in Africa along with their ambassador from the U.S. will go through a 100-hour teacher training with Sid McNairy in their home country. After being trained, the teacher will be supported with $200 a month to travel and teach yoga for free around Africa for a year. The individual will also have a developing relationship with their ambassador from the US to discuss ideas, provide support, and create a connection between the communities.

Implementation

Achieving the mission goals begins with an individual taking it upon themselves to become an ambassador from the US. This person will organize different charity events involving yoga to raise enough money to pay for teacher training for themselves and their partner from the native land, a $2,400 yearly salary for the teacher, and additional funds to support the operation of the Mission.

Benefits

  • Increases cohesiveness within the affected communities in the US and Africa to have additional social work
  • A connection of communities across the world, promoting a sense of unity
  • Provides additional occupations, culture, and investment in communities
