When my coach encouraged me to take yoga for the first time, I immediately began to question how these classes would help me as a football player. I seriously could not see how yoga, would help me run routes on the field or how it would help me to build lean muscles. My goal was to build and maintain muscle. To my surprise, after my first class, every concern I had and every question that I had was answered. Yoga helped my balance, strengthen my core, and most of all gave me more flexibility then I ever envisioned myself having. At the end of my first class I was exhausted, drained, and worn out. I am a D-1 athlete that has been training for the past 8-10 years of my life every day. Yoga was a workout that left me giving it nothing but the most positive respect it deserves. I am now much faster because of yoga; I am stronger, and most importantly more flexible which keeps every athlete injury free.
Yoga has increased my game physically and mentally! It also benefits the body as well as the mind giving one a relaxed state of mind as well as a fresh strong renewed heart and mind. I believed that weight lifting was all I needed to be a complete athlete but I was wrong. Sid Yoga has changed my entire perception of Yoga. I have suggested yoga to my past; previous and current teammates in order to get stronger, faster, and more flexible. Taking class at Sid yoga has no age limit, any and everyone regardless of age, skill level, and flexibility can join. The staff and even my fellow yoga classmates welcomed me in with open arms and open hearts ready to practice and strengthen the mind, body, and soul. I brought my sister (A tennis player) to one class and she immediately fell in love, and she hasn’t turned back since. I highly suggest and recommend any athlete, young or old to attend class at Sid yoga, to strengthen you not only as a person, but also as an athlete. Take my word for it, you wont be disappointed!!
I love the personal committment that Sid and his teachers have towards the students. They want you to be your best inside & out and take what you learn on your mat into every area of your life and excel! They really care.. That is so exciting to me! Sid and the teachers have helped me transform my life and have always encouraged me to be the best and do my best. You can attend the classes with no judgement or criticism. It is a very warm, nurturing & loving atmosphere, and the studio is fabulous.
I am 60 and have been attending the studio for over two years and I cannot believe the difference it has made in my life. So much difference that it has helped to caterpult me into my true destiny. I am relocating to another state and if I had never attended the studio, I would still be stuck in my old way of thinking and dealing with life.
I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a lifestyle change to come to Sid Yoga Center because it will truly transform your life and it is a lifeline! I thank Sid and his wonderful staff who mirrors him so well. Thank you for helping me.
I’ve been practicing for 12 years and Sid Yoga is 100% the best studio I have ever been to. Sid is a FORCE. The energy, the knowledge, the playfulness and the pace of the class are all perfect and I always leave feeling like a better version of me.
Sid yoga staff made me feel welcome from the first time I came to the studio. I particularly appreciate the combination of spirituality and physical practice provided by the staff. Sid and Lindsay are most inspirational especially in creating a space to grow for each individual wherever they may be. There are many events that provide spiritual balance in addition to the power yoga experience. I have not been as pleased with any other studio or fitness center I have been to before. Namaste.
The studio is a very welcoming, friendly place. The front desk staff are always cheerful and helpful. The teachers are always open to questions, and their regular assists during class can make a huge difference.
I love the range of classes, from power vinyasa to restorative to more focused workshops. And it is easy to find a convenient class with all the class times offered.
I like walking into the studio, feeling at home and feeling welcomed by old friends. I also appreciate the reliability for a challenging transformative yoga practice! When I decide to practice at SidYoga, I know what to expect and how I will feel when I leave–cleansed and ready to take on the world :-)
I joined SidYoga a little over a year ago, after practicing Bikram yoga for about 7 years. I was ready for a change to a different type of yoga, and at a studio that was a little closer to home. I find the power yoga classes at Sid Yoga Center challenging, but not overwhelming, and, since I can take either a 60-minute or 90-minute class, depending on my schedule, I’m actually practicing more often (~5 times/week) than I was before. I also like the “positive vibes” at Sid Yoga; my fellow yogis are friendly and supportive, and the staff are competent, helpful, and supportive. I also like the variety of workshops that are available to help me improve my practice, and am proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish in the year since I joined the studio.
I came to your studio almost a year ago and as soon as I walked in I felt calm. I had just had my second child and my body was a mess and I was full of anxiety. All off the teachers are very educated and dedicated, which I appreciate very much. With encouragement from the teachers I can now do poses I have tried to do for years at other yoga establisments and could not. Sid yoga has provided me with mental strength, physical strength, and calmness. I love the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the kindness, the professionalism, the assistance during class, and all the different times that classes are held. Coming to your studio is so important to me, that my husband finds time in his schedule to stop working so that I can go to yoga. My daughter ( who is 5) keeps asking when she can come. I have, and will continue to bring friends and co-workers with me to class. I am always joyful to see people I know during class, and this happens often. This week I turned to my left and one of my students was a few mats away. This is a testament that your studio and the the people, the teachers are amazing, make for a wonderful environment. Thank you for everything.
Friendly demeanor of all staff and instructors, and I love the cleanliness of studio, affordable classes, everything! There is nothing I can’t rave about this studio. I’d moved away from the Baltimore area a couple years ago but love coming to this place whenever I’m in town visiting family. I have yet to find a studio that parallels Sid Yoga Center in my area!
Everyone is friendly and helpful at all times. I’ve never met a stranger at Sid Yoga. Sid, Lindsay, Becca, Molly, Meg, Liz, Marcus, Robin, Chelsea, and everybody else I may have overlooked have welcomed me into their home on York Rd. The peace, serenity, and power of the Sid Yoga community is my personal lifeline to health and happiness. I encourage my family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and students to join me on the mat at every opportunity. You’re never too old to add yoga to your journey of life
Sid Yoga’s instructors create an atmosphere that encourages individuals of any background or skill level to explore their potential. Outside of the classroom they introduce themselves and greet you with a smile. During class they challenge you to find the limits of your practice and push a little further, but also remain mindful of any limitations you might have. After class they provide encouragement, welcome questions, and invite you to come back for more. As someone who is new to yoga and self-conscious about my limitations, I was apprehensive about committing to a yoga practice. Sid Yoga’s remarkable staff has shown me that my hesitancy was completely unfounded.
NFL Offensive Lineman
Having seen coach in the beginning of his carreer I have had a chance to witness the effects he has brought to inspiring people to lift to achieve the next level in their athletic endeavors.
In my 10 plus years as an NFL player I understand the benefit of having a complete program for continued longevity. Flexibility and staying mentally sharp are major parts of what has allowed me to to continue to excell as a NFL player. Coach McNairy can help all players reach new heights and continue to excell as elite athletes.
Cleveland Gladiators, Arena Football League
I never thought I would have liked Yoga. But after Sid’s workshop in Cleveland, I was hooked. It was so hard, but so worth it. The calming that you feel when you leave a session is amazing. I have adopted many of the theories that were projected through the session to my everyday life. And would definitely advise anyone to just try it out. You won’t be disappointed.
Improved speed from 4.5 to 4.40 while playing football for Coach McNairy at Morgan State University
I’ll never forget that morning practice during training camp when Coach McNairy was leading another team stretch. Every player was dreading that moment when we knew we’d have to sit on the wet grass for the latter portion of our stretches. We all hoped that Coach would skip that part on that particular morning. Then Coach McNairy yelled, “On your butts!” The entire team moaned as we plopped onto the muddy field. That’s when Coach yelled something else that I’d never forget. He said, “After the age of 18, every day that you don’t stretch, the body loses 1% of its total flexibility!” That’s when I knew that stretching would be an integral part of sustaining my athletic ability for the rest of my life.
Even now, 10 years later, people are still amazed at how a guy my size, that appears to be bound by his muscle, is able to move so quickly and with such fluidity. I always tell them that, “the key to the rapid movement of my muscle groups isn’t in their strength, it’s in their length!”
The ability to keep my muscles long and loose is what allows stronger and faster muscle contractions, which generate my fast and explosive movements. Yoga is the best way to continuously lengthen each and every one of my muscle fibers, new and old.

I first became acquainted with Sid when I was a student athlete at Northern Illinois University where he was my wide receivers coach. I truly believe much of my success during those four years and later, as my dream of playing in the NFL became a reality, stems directly from Sid’s emphasis on enhancing physical training through yoga – not just the X’s s and O’s. It is no surprise that Sid Yoga has emerged as a success in a variety of arenas. From an athletic standpoint, Sid’s program has contributed to my ability to perform at the highest level. By stressing injury prevention and flexibility, Lifeline Power Yoga focuses on the mental aspects of training and the enhancement of the physical side. It teaches one to use focus, concentration, and mental acuity to make one’s game complete. As a professional athlete I know I need to utilize all effective tools that are available, and Sid certainly lit that light in my head with his belief and emphasis on yoga. Sid Yoga can work for anyone who wants that extra edge that is necessary today in the arenas of competitive sports or business.
Owner, Mystic Yoga Shala
Sid McNairy is an exceptional teacher who incorporates his Native American Heritage along with an academic background in sports medicine making his yoga classes a powerful place for growth, both physically and mentally. I am always pushed to my edge and taken to a new place in my practice under the direction and care of Sid. He teaches from a place of experiential knowledge, compassion, and humility. He has rocked my world and I know that he can do the same for you!
John Hopkins University
Sid is a remarkable individual who has brought our team to another level of training through yoga. We value his contributions to the success of our program!
You guys rock!!! I am a personal friend of Maria and Clayton. Clayton is the one responsible for suggesting that I take these classes. Since coming to your yoga classes, I’ve notice changes in how my body is looking and most importantly the way I feel emotionally and physically. Keep up the good work and I love the way you push us in the class room. I love that part.
This past off season I wanted to incorporate some cross training into my exercise program. I had been curious about yoga for some time, so I decided to join the Sid Yoga Center in Towson. Now I don’t know what kind of experience you guys have with yoga. I went into it thinking it would be a good relaxing way to learn some stretching techniques and maybe work on my core. Well in short, it totally kicked my ass. …I have been going at least twice a week since October, and it has made a tremendous difference for me. I’m starting this riding season stronger, more limber, and focused than ever. A side benefit has been my level of stress has dropped off considerably since I started. I’m trying not to sound all preachy, but joining this studio has made a big difference in my life. There are many benefits that transfer directly to cycling such as increased strength, balance, flexibility, and of course who couldn’t use to reduce their stress.
I think the Beginner class that I’m taking at Sid Yoga is great. …I’ve taken Vishwayatan yoga for the past 3 years (one class per week) and am so glad I switched to this class. My old class had the same exercises in the same order every time! Not only can I attend more than once a week if my schedule permits, but I know it will be a little different than the last class, so won’t get bored with it. I like the fact that some of the postures are difficult and can already feel the difference in my body after only 3 weeks of classes. Having the unlimited membership option also encourages me to go more than once a week!
A day I’ll never forget. My 8 year old daughter was having what the teacher stated, “serious learning problems.” My spirited daughter was slowly loosing herself in second grade. By december 2006 my daughter hated school, her life, and did not want to move on in time. After numerous teacher, scholl counsler meetings I was so angry, hurt, and feeling defeated that I for some reason went on a search for “kid stress release classes in Baltimore, Maryland!” My computer and mouse brought me to Sid Yoga in Towson Maryland. I clicked onto the website… I felt drawn. I emailed the McNairy’s with the complete saga of the lifeless child. I explained how she was pushed out of class 4 out of 5 days, and that this teacher said she needed medication and more. Not only was my daughter loosing life, so was I. Within 20 minutes of sending that email of HELP I received a phone call.
The voice on the other end was a voice from heaven. The only words that came out from the caller was…”Get Lauryn over to Our Studio Now!” Since the first day of entering the studio not only has my one in need found refuge in God and herself, but so have my other two daughters and I.
My daughter Lauryn is now in 3rd grade, NOT MEDICATED, and is doing exceptional in school. When returning to school this past September 2007, I was asked Numerous times… “So what did the Doctor give Lauryn?” I could only laugh and replied “NOTHING!!” Seeing mouths dropped and wide open… I then smiled and said Lauryn is high on life, she has found refuge in God thanks to yoga and her Baba-Sid…for he believed in her soul. Peace and Love Always.
Thanks for the email and the time that you have spent with me. I look forward to coming to your studio DAILY. You are an inspiration to me and I look up to you in many ways. You are so encouraging and devoted to your students. I look forward to many practices, Congratulations on your Towson studio and now I dont know what I would do without your practices. Many thanks and best wishes to you….
It’s Mason from class today. I feel GREAT! right now after your class. Even though it was (as always) an intense workout, I have a ton of energy from it, so much so that I’ve already unpacked, cleaned my room, done my laundry, done my roommates’ dishes, and started my semester’s reading ahead of time. So I just wanted to write you a little thank you note, and say that it’s good to be back. Namaste

There are not many opportunities that come along to allow you to develop your body, mind, spirit, and psyche simultaneously. I really enjoyed my 40 day journey, but I know it is just the beginning of a lifelong one. Thank you.
After running for 25 years, I was tired of the chronic pain in my lower back and hips. I found my way into Sid’s studio and was pain free by my tenth class (and a break from running). It was a challenge for me to stay the first 5 classes because I was use to running, maybe a piece of me enjoyed “running off” the issues and stresses of life. When I got to Sid yoga Center, I started “going within” and sitting with my issues and stresses. Sid’s yoga is completely different from any yoga I have done over the years- from West coast to East coast. I get an amazing workout and I come out of each class with more inner peace. The studio feels as comfortable as home and I can’t wait to get to class. Sid, thank you for helping me continue to go within and let go of things that hold me up! Namaste.
Sid ,I just wanted to thank you for being so welcoming after my hiatus from yoga….I really do come to class every day that I am off work. If I am MIA it is only because I am on a long stretch at the hospital. Thank you for bringing your type of yoga to Baltimore. I enjoy every single class I have ever taken at your studio and do not know what I would do if I did not have one of your classes to go to. Not only are they powerful and test my patience, and my emotional and physical strength…but THEY ARE FUN!!!! The poses are fun to get into and the music you play really matches the beat of the class. I have purchased many songs on I-Tunes since starting yoga at your studio. I really enjoyed the Friday night “Midnight yoga” and hope one day you can bring it back. I also enjoy your readings from Journey through the Heart by Melody Beattie. I have been a fan of her books for years and listening to you read one of her passages really completes a class for me. So Sid, thank you for all your visions in building the “perfect” yoga studio. I will be a “Sid yoga groupie” for life.!Thank you for supporting my flow.
I just completed my first 40 Day Personal Revolution workshop, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The authenticity and true desire for growth were palpable. It was a structured program led with compassion. Empathetic listening occurred, thought-provoking feedback and insightful guidance and wisdom were offered.
The program came at a time in my life when I was seeking some guidance with or structure to the personal work I was encountering. It presented just the right balance for me in regard to acceptance of where I am in my path, as well as, pushing my edge to allow for further growth. Every week I looked so forward to the content of the workshop, challenging myself and even sitting through the obstacles that arose- all of this because I knew the end result would be, a difference. I am different now physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually compared to when I began the program. I am further along my path, and living my truth now more than ever. I highly recommend this workshop!
When I first came to Sid Yoga I had the best yoga practice I ever experienced with Sid. That being said, I “avoided” coming back for a year until I came back to sign up for the yoga teachers program. As part of the program I knew I had to be committed to this style of yoga, even though at first it seemed “too rigorous” for me to handle (at my age – 46). I learned to not just “handle” making it through the practice but I began to enjoy them. At the same time I discovered a power in me stronger than I ever imagined. I’m thankful to now have the ability to teach this method of Hot Power Yoga to new students and I continue to embrace the practice in my daily life. Sid’s Hot Power Yoga made me powerful in not only my body, but in my mind and spirit, as well.
Sid Yoga Center has become such a big part of my life on so many levels. Because I was so moved by my practice here at this studio, I decided to embark on the teacher training course. The yoga flow at this particular studio doesn’t even begin to compare to any other studio, which is why I’ve witnessed so many other people staying with Sid Yoga Center after having practiced at other places. Not only are the practices intensely uplifting, but the energy that is present within those walls also has a contagious euphoric effect. Sid McNairy’s abiliy to create a yogic community has been proven to be quite successful. Is it due to the fact that he has followed his faith in the business and in the people to leave with a donation based charge,? Or is it that Sid McNairy is a true leader, a guide who’s words have traversed the Baltimore area gravitating all walks of life to his studio? Either way we all agree that Sid, and the people he has trained all have a special talent at guiding people through their own journey to self-heal.
My first Power yoga class was taken in late February of last year and after a year of having it as a part of my life I have noticed significant differences in my body, mind and spiritual walk. Coming from an athletic background in swimming and other physically demanding sports I was up for the challenge putting my male ego aside and telling my self that “Yoga is not just for Women.” As a matter of fact I would think that most men who weight lift as a practice would not be able to smoothly withstand a full 90 minute practice; you are using different muscles, more endurance and flexibility then you do in almost anything besides rock climbing. Shortly after meeting Sid I decided to become a teacher so that I could share this amazing lifestyle choice with others who are curious about it or just as involved as I am.
When I first entered Sid Yoga Center I knew it was the place for me. I loved the atmosphere, the community aspect, and most of all the challenging classes that pushed me past my conceived limits. It also amazed me that Sid went out on a limb and as a donation based studio. This requires a great faith as a business person not knowing if peoples “donations” could sustain the studio. I understand the concept but I would likely never put it into practice myself. It takes a great deal of trust in humanity recognizing the potential good in them. I know that some people may take advantage of this but others may inclined to give more since there is no set price. This crazy thing is that the studio is packed now whether it is because of the “donation” method of payment or simply that the classes are that good or that people are spreading the yoga gospel like it was Avatar 3D. It joys me to know that I am a part of a lifestyle choice that leaves people coming back for more because it is so all around beneficial. I would hope people realize that as far as cost goes $10 for an hour and a half Yoga class is the best deal you can get on the market. You can spend that on a fancy appetizer at Cafe Troia downstairs and the experience will last only a few seconds, or on an journey that will change your life.
The bliss that most people experience after a class is a cheaper way to deal with the stresses of daily life than gorging on food, cigarettes, or alcohol, which are detriments to health. Conversely the lasting effects of a routine Yoga practice is permanently restorative. I hope to see Yoga as a discipline and more specifically Sid Yoga brand grow over the years to come. In addition, Sid has been a great mentor to me as well as a coach and motivator to those whom he impacts on the mat.
I found Sid yoga during the fall of 2007 and took my first class on my 41st birthday (it was Mary’s class and I will never forget it!). Yoga – whatever it might be – was to be a gift to myself for having survived the previous year of intense treatments for early stage breast cancer. The discovery of the cancer during the last months of pregnancy with my now-3-year old son had unleashed a fierce intensity to fight, to stay alive, to be strong for my new baby, toddler daughter, and husband. A year and several months later, I was exhausted, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Stepping into the studio, the heat, the physical intensity, the mindfulness – helped to create an amazing stress relief and restore some mental clarity. I decided to quit my job and take a mini-sabbatical to focus on my recovery, and yoga became the centerpiece of that effort. Sid yoga center helped me to gain confidence in my body’s ability to heal and to persevere and in my mind’s readiness for new challenges. As a cancer survivor, you can never completely escape the reality of “what ifs” but yoga provides the tools to move beyond “survive” to “thrive”. As a result of what I have learned at Lifeline, my yoga mat will always be there as my personal retreat, and empowerment destination.
I started coming to Sid Yoga Center two years ago and my life has not been the same since. I have practiced at a lot of studios back home in Colorado, but I don’t think any studio can compare to SYC The people and community that Sid has drawn to SYC are amazing. It is such a supportive and encouraging group of people. I love the atmosphere at SYC. I love how Sid can really challenge you, but is so supportive and can also make you laugh. I love looking around a class and seeing everyone smiling and really enjoying themselves. Every time I come to a yoga class I leave I feeling refreshed and empowered! Practicing with Sid and everyone at the studio has given me such a sense of peace and happiness too; I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I had not found yoga.
My boyfriend introduced me to Sid Yoga Center, and the wonderful people who teach there about a year ago. We both truly love going to the studio. We feel Yoga and the instuctors at have helped us to open our spirits to the possibilities of all that we can be and to what life truly has to offer. We are so much more at peace with ourselves. The instructors are a true inspiration to us both!!!
I want to thank you for you!!!!
Love, Peace and Blessing to all!
Okay, I have found The Foundation Series perfect for me. I looked forward to the classes and the instruction was very effective. It gave me insight on what the poses are meant to open up and how to work towards this. It works at a pace that is right for beginners or people just wanting to enhance their poses. I am going to sign up again.

Sid’s teaching is a refreshing combination of strength within vulnerability and fun-filled challenge. The comfort Sid has in his own skin gives students the freedom to relax into theirs.

I had some free time from studying for midterms and wanted to thank you…for the work you did with me over the summer. I am unable to replace you guys as my own yogi right now, but when I do my simple and short practice sessions they help me tremendously with re-energizing, focusing, calming, and overall health. I am having a wonderful sophomore year at Fordham University right now and part of that is owed to you guys and our relationship over the summer. I’ve managed to pull my way into being the fourth strongest rower in the varsity lightweight eight, coming in behind guys with at least 6 years of experience while I have 1, something I previously did not even entertain but dismissed as impossible. I feel that yoga played a very large role in being able to accompish this. You guys are always in my mind wen encountering other students who practice yoga and other teachers, and when encountering the world with needless difficulty.
“You have taught me more than how to bend and support and stretch my body as I desire, but how to do the same with my mind, spirit, and my life. Thank you for cracking the window that I might continue to shatter and break through in aspiring toward that healthy light of possibility; for offering me the cup from which I may become drunk.

Today as I was sitting at my desk, I found myself getting wrapped up in the madness of everyone else’s unhappiness. This made me think about my own life and I realized the last time I was genuinely happy and healthy was when I was practicing Yoga. So, I decided I was going to get my butt in gear and go to a Yoga class by my house after work today. BIG MISTAKE. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time, this class was so so SO awful! This class made me miss everything about Yoga.
I just wanted to thank you for everything, things that I didn’t even realize at the time. I work in Columbia now and am living on the Eastern Shore. I really would LOVE to come back! Can you send me a copy of your schedule, so I can try and come after work. I work crazy hours, but I need Yoga back in my life.
I own a studio in Queenstown New Zealand and had occasion to catch one of Sid’s classes back in Nov of this year. I had been traveling a lot checking out yoga teachers and studios in Boulder and Aspen Colorado as well as several other well-known “Yoga towns” in the US. Of the many classes and eachers I studied with over the course of 7 weeks Sid was without doubt the best and I wish to share a couple of observations about Sid as a teacher. I hope you can use them on your site.
There are several things that set Sid apart as a teacher that really make a huge difference to me as a student. First is his welcoming and open attitude. Then there was the difficulty of the class. Yes it was hard, but I never thought that Sids goal was to break the students down. This is something I have experienced in numerous other studios with numerous other teachers who are “trying” to deliver a hard class. During a meeting with one teacher after her class she said her goal is to try and break the students! It is very dis-spiriting to catch a class where rather then helping you to excel, to build you up from the heart the teacher tries to grind you down. Sid’s open, light presentation of a physically demanding flow coupled with his hands- on gentle adjustments was a thing of beauty to behold. Especially important to me as a student and teacher was the gentleness of the adjustments and the personal attention to each student. I was a professional guide and climbing/kayak teacher for 25 years and have some long-term injuries that have been severely aggravated by overly aggressive adjustments. Sids technique couldn’t be more helpful, gently coaxing and coaching my heart, mind and body to deeper openings. As a teacher I applaud hia ability to give to every student individually. Also as a teacher I was struck by the beautiful and humorous story about generosity taken from his own life and have told allof our teachers the story he told us. We have all had a terrific laugh over it. The story was delivered in pieces at key moments in the class and I appreciated it throughout the class.
In finishing, Thanks for a great class and continuing inspiration. If you are ever in New Zealand, come see us. You have a place to stay and a studio to practice in. Wishing you all the best with your new studio- Nice website!
This personal revolution came at a time when I really needed to clear my head and kind of start over. I have let go of some obsessive thoughts that were overrunning my life and feel that I have gained so much knowledge from you both. Not just from the PR, but from the classes. The journal will also continue to be a great tool for me and my husband to communicate. This added something to our marriage!
Day of Peace
I can’t say the 40 Day Revolution changed my life but it sure improved it a great deal. I’m always on the path of spiritual growth and learning prior to the revolution, however, during it, I could tell that there were many changes happening to move me forward at a greater rate. For example, during the journaling practice, I would write something down from a past hurt or “issue” and within 24 hours, something would happen to bring that event “to an ugly head.” Unually out of nowhere – things that haven’t been brought up for decades. This created clearing for me and my relations. I also enjoyed my practice during the revolution. The first week we were to work on “presence.” I worked on that for the enire duration of the process which has created just the most enjoyable yoga practice. I view yoga as more of a meditation now and I am much more present during it. Working with my diet was also beneficial for me; I look at food a whole different way now thanks to the 3 day fruit fest as well as the other diet suggestions during the 40 days. I am grateful to Sid for his knowledge and guidance through the 40 day process and recommend the 40 Day Revolution for anyone who wants to change their life for the better.
Finding Sid Yoga Center has been such a blessing. As a single mom to a special needs child my life runs at a thousand miles a minute. I work full time and spend the evenings running to various therapies for my son. Once I arrive home I start my second full time job as a mom. Practicing yoga at SYC is the only “me” time I have. After only a few months of practicing I already see and feel a difference in my body. I’m stronger and more flexible. I’m able to achieve postures that a few months ago were completely out of reach for me. Yoga has taught me to be still in the face of difficulty. It is teaching me peace and calmness in the face of adversity when everything in me tells me to take off running. And, I feel it spilling over into my personal and professional life. Now, when I face difficulty I hear my mind kick into “yoga mode”….breathe, relax, be still in this moment. Sid’s studio is a haven for me. It’s a great workout and when I leave I do so renewed, energized and peaceful. Never before have I enjoyed working out the way I do now. Yoga is more than exercise. It becomes a way of life. I look forward to getting into SYC and I never had that feeling when thinking about getting on a treadmill. The great part is Sid is so enthusiastic about what he teaches that he’s made it donation based, thereby assuring everyone has the same opportunity to experience peace, calmness and a sense of belonging.
Nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital
I have been going through a very difficult divorce and custody battle for over 17 months. At the time I met Sid and found the studio My wife was not allowing me to see my children and was not answering the phone to even let me talk to them. I had been using a yoga book that I got from the library and doing sequences to help me sleep. I wanted more but was unable to commit to a schedule, so I put going to yoga classes on the back burner. Then one day at a party a friend had a flyer for Karmafest and Sid’s website was linked to the site on the flyer. One day at work I happened to go top Sid’s and discovered that his studio was donation based and you only donate for the classes that you attend. Perfect for my situation.
I went to my first class on a Sunday night, there was incense burning and music playing and the lights were turned down. Candles were burning at the front. This looks very relaxing I thought. Someone approached me,recognizing that I was new, an offered advice. I like this place I thought. After my class I met Sid and we talked. He told me about the 40 day revolution coming up and I new it was just what I needed.
The 40 day was truly revolutionary for me. I started coming to the studio every chance I got.My life situation changed. I got joint custody of my children. I got my house back, I got furnature for my house donated to me from an old friend. I started cooking my own foods, the universe has been providing for me. I have been noticing how the universe is providing. My diet is now mostly vegatarian and I have lost 15 pounds. My attitude toward life has changed. Sid has shown by his own example, that by living in your own truth you create your own abundance. I am grateful for the day that I walked in Sid’s studio, It has transformed me and my view of the world. Sid is a rare individual how lives what he teaches. From the outside my life may still seem to be in chaos, but inside I am at peace knowing all adversity is a chance to learn a lesson. Yoga has given me a new set of eyes. “When the student is ready the teacher will appear” Sid is my teacher. Thank you Sid for being you.
Sid Yoga Center has been more than I could have ever asked for in a Yoga studio. A three sport athlete growing up, I planned to walk-on to my college athletic program in one of the sports I had played in high school; when things didn’t work out, I was in search of something to take the place of what once occupied the majority of my time. After my first class , I was hooked and found myself coming back a few times every week. It started as a means of fitness, but the changes I have seen in my life because of my practice at SYC are so much more than that. Not only are the classes affordable for a college student, but the different age groups at the studio create a community that draws me back day after day and a desire to share this sense of community with all those I meet.
As a retired gymnast in high school, I enjoy Sid yoga center because it is challenging but also fun. After finishing a 4 hour gymnastics practice, I would feel exhausted and my muscles would ache. After practicing yoga at lifeline, I feel the complete opposite. My whole body feels renewed and strong. I also enjoy and benefit from the lessons (Always trying your best and bringing a peace of mind into every situation) learned in each practice. At Sid yoga Center, there is a community atmosphere. I like how everybody comes together and tries to do their best as a whole. Sid yoga has enhanced my life and I believe it will help me to grow into a better person.
Sid Yoga Center has completely changed my life in every possible way. I will begin with the more external changes and go towards the internal.. Yoga is the only form of movement that has motivated me to practice 3-5 times per week for the past two years. Other exercises options such as the typical gym workout prior to yoga did not motivate me to maintain a regular schedule and were a challenge to maintain. Yoga has changed my body in that I am more lean, fit, flexible, strong, and balanced than ever before. Every single time that I practice yoga, I feel wonderful. It is never a drag to go, I am consistently excited to do yoga and always am glad that I went. The heat, the constant breath, sweating out toxins, and the deep opening of my entire body leaves me feeling free, energized, and cleansed. This is no exaggeration. Other than how yoga has changed my body and how it makes me feel, my emotions have become more balanced and I have now realized what inner peace and strength feel like because I have it. I used to have a lot of anxiety before I started yoga. The focus on the present moment, acceptance of what is, and ability to recognize how everything changes has helped me to really overcome my anxiety problem. I am more at peace than I have ever been. I literally feel a calmness and lightness in my body.. I also feel stronger to make the decisions that feel right in my heart and to stand up for what I believe. This is an ongoing process for me but I know that through yoga, a balanced and meaningful life is very possible. Yoga works from the inside out to heal. I highly recommend all of its’ teachers, workshops, and retreats to everyone. Sid McNairy, the owner, has particularly touched my life. He is a strong man who is very REAL. He is true to himself and by being so authentic in his teaching, he allows people to recognize their truest self. That is the best gift. I am so grateful for him. He is also a strong, confident man who pushes everyone in his classes to push themselves beyond what they think is possible. I am so grateful for the entire Sid Yoga experience..

My class was amazing! It was my first class, and I came by on a break from class and took a power hour class. It was amazingly fun, tough, and relaxing all at the same time. I cannot wait to come back tomorrow and get better! The space was relaxing and invigorating, I will be sure to bring friends!
My experience in yoga teacher training was life changing. It required me to look deep inside myself, truly open my heart, bare my soul, drop my junk and just be. In doing so, my life was forever changed. I felt a sense of freedom and peace that gave me the courage to make some necessary changes in my life that were causing immense stress and unhappiness. I love the life I live and who I am! Thank you yoga teacher training and all the teachers that ignited my heart and soul.
