Join SYC as we do a 21 day cleanse as a community that will help you to shed the winter heaviness and have you feeling light and reenergized for the spring and summer season to come. The cleanse is based on a partial food fast our fellow SYC instructor, Crystal Milana, has done for several years called the Daniel Fast. The fast consists of eating all fresh non-processed foods to give your body a kick start into eating cleaner and more fresh to get out of the habit of eating the comfort foods we all enjoy in the winter.

There are two different options in the fast depending on how far you want to take it. We will support and encourage each other through social media. We encourage you to keep a food journal to help you stay on track and share recipes with the community.

As you sign up for the fast SYC will send you the two different options. This fast is applicable to anyone looking to lighten up and shine from the inside out! It is not a cleanse where you can only eat raw foods, drink certain juices etc. You will find yourself being able to eat a variety of foods from fruits to vegetables, legumes, grains, almond milk and even some meats (depending on what option it is you choose).

Cleanse starts on April 19th- May 10th
Workshop is on April 19th at 4:30pm- 6pm

This is where we can meet together and have discussion on why we are doing the cleanse, tools to help you through the cleanse and get different recipes and meal ideas. We will open with a meet and greet, then a short meditation to clear our minds. Please bring your journal with you, as well as an open heart and mind for this journey together.

Release your inner blocks

Healing Breathwork is a tool for healing, and clearing old patterns within ones body. Learn how to use your breath for emotional release, mental clarity, and physical freedom.

Sid’s Healing Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing that integrates insights from modern consciousness research, transpersonal discovery, and spiritual practice. The process itself uses very simple means: it combines natural baby’s breathing with evocative music in a comfortable setting. With the eyes closed and lying on a mat, each person uses their own breath and the music in the room to tap into deeper a consciousness.

Meditation is one of the primary focuses of The Spirit of Yoga Module. You will dive into four layers of this practice and deepen your connection to how spirit is moving through your body.

Influenced by his Native American culture, Sid McNairy has brought the foundations of the First Nations people into his teacher trainings. These traditions and his time with Grandmother Morningstar have been an integral part of who Sid is today. It is his desire to share these experiences with yoga teachers and enhance their connection to spirit. Part of this week includes Inner Quest which is an opportunity for you to commune with nature. You will head onto Grandmother Morningstar’s land and experience Native American culture and the oneness of all.

ganesha deity archetype

We will help you find your personal deity

Using statues to illustrate, Manoj will relate the symbolism of Hindu and Buddhist deities to the archetypes within us. Through mythology, we will uncover hidden symbolisms and learn the four ways to work with them as part of a spiritual practice. Discover how knowing and working with your archetypes can profoundly shift you, especially during moments of life transitions, and how these ancient teachings have practical relevance to your life, bringing peace of mind and uncovering our underlying common spirit.

Jyothi will illuminate the practices and knowledge of Vedanta that lead to great peace of mind and prepares you for the goal of analyzing and realizing the Self, or ultimate freedom. When learnt and properly assimilated, this knowledge has the power to make you immortal.

About the teachers:

Manoj Chalam uses humor and personal anecdotes in his lectures and workshops to illuminate Hindu mythology. An Indian-born scientist with a PhD from Cornell University, Manoj helps

jyothi and manoj archetype form and formless

individuals find their archetypes in Hindu Yogic deities and teaches the 4 ways to work with an archetype as a Vedantic practice. He has also compiled a book on the symbolisms of Hindu and Buddhist deities. Manoj presents workshops on Hindu symbolisms and Tantra at yoga studios, keynotes at festivals, ashrams, and universities.

Jyothi Chalam is a scholar of Vedanta, the philosophy of self realization. Jyothi teaches workshops on the Upanishads at ashrams, yoga studios and yoga conferences. Jyothi is also an accomplished musician of the South Indian Classical tradition. Her music is the culmination of both her philosophical meditations and deep spiritual devotion.

You will also learn how to translate these timeless teachings into your current classroom experience. You will be introduced to leading a class by receiving voice coaching, and learning sequencing basics. A unique aspect of this training is the amount of time spent in practicing your teaching skills through live teaching sessions to your peers. Receive feedback throughout the program and grow.

During this week you will have several opportunities to teach live to your peers and program leaders, while receiving feedback full in growth. After completing Phase II, you will be ready to lead others and teach yoga to various levels.

Students will immerse more deeply into assisting techniques, and apply practical anatomy methods into the class room by understanding the differences within the body and how it relates to yoga. Philosophy will be discussed related to ancient yoga texts, and how these philosophical understandings can translate into classroom yoga teaching. An empowering process for those wanting to teach yoga in your community and world. Are you a current yoga teacher looking to master your skills, or a yoga student seeking to delve deeper in your practice? Our weeklong trainings are a great opportunity to capture these goals. This program composes the first part of 200hour teacher training.

The goal of this week is “Establishing power for yourself and others.” You will be introduced to the foundations of assisting/adjusting, and be exposed to understanding the anatomy of yoga postures and movement of the body. Discussions on the Yoga Sutras and philosophy of our flow will teach students about the depth and versatility of practicing yoga.
This weeklong session is an inward journey that brings the focus to the internal by recognizing where we hold back, and where we can break through.
