    1. Surf the Vinyasa Wave
      11:30 am – 1:30 pm

Improve the way you move on your mat!

      Taught by: Lindsay Lusignea

      Sign Up Now

Learn how to successfully navigate through the tricky transitions of your yoga practice by moving with precision and the right effort through our Power Vinyasa Yoga. Vinyasa means to “flow” or to “move without obstruction.”

This workshop will focus on the tricky, yet elusive, yet playful aspect of our yoga practice, including float ups, float backs, and jump throughs, as well as new fun ways to link the postures to one another. We will float. We will soar. We will land, catlike, with soft knees and a smile on our face. Or we will fall, and that will be okay, too. The approach will be lighthearted and fun, with ample opportunity to ask questions.

Maintaining a true workshop form, there will be demonstration and emphasis on breaking down the transitions one step at a time.

This practice is best suited for those who have taken a vinyasa yoga class or who practice at Sid Yoga Center.

      Pre-registered Price: $20 / Door Price: $25

Developed by Stanley Grof in the 1960′s, Holotropic breath work is a tool for healing. Learn how to use your breath for psychological release, mental clarity, and physical freedom.

Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing that integrates insights from modern consciousness research, transpersonal psychology, and spiritual practice. The process itself uses very simple means: it combines accelerated breathing with evocative music in a comfortable setting. With the eyes closed and lying on a mat, each person uses their own breath and the music in the room to tap into deeper a consciousness.

This experience is appropriate for everyone and will leave you with clarity, inner peace and connection to yourself.

Sid McNairy will be your lead guide for this session, who has countless hours studying Holotropic and transgressional breathwork under the direct supervision and teachings of Grandmother Morningstar, who was a direct student of Stanley Grof’s for years.

As the partners switch, they cultivate deeper trust and communication. The flyer receives spinal and muscular release while the base is the recipient of Thai Massage (sometimes dubbed “lazy man’s yoga,” where the practitioner moves the receiver through a flow) and the Buddhist practice of metta -loving kindness.

      About the Teachers:

Anjali Sunita is the Founder and Director of Baltimore Yoga Village, two studios in Baltimore, Maryland and Director of the Jeevan Yoga Teacher Training. Certified originally to teach through the Sivananda Yoga Dhanwantari Ashram in Kerela, South India, she has continued study through the Sivananda organization, her home base, as well as dozens of other yoga schools and seminars. Of these, she has been most influenced by Anusara Yoga, mindfulness meditaton, Ayurveda, and Soulful Communication. She has been a private student of Guruji Hasu Patel in Hindustani Music (North Indian Classical Singing) for the past 12 years and is beginning to share basic breath and vocal workshops in the community. She is also certified in prenatal yoga (with Janice Clarfield), children’s yoga teacher (through YoKid) and will complete certifcation in AcroYoga, (a unique blend of yoga, acrobatics, and thai massage cofounded by Jason Nemer and Jenny Saur Klein) in September 2013. She teaches regularly in ashrams, private homes, adult learning programs, public schools, the federal detention centers and has raised funds for pilot studies in Yoga for the Blind (Wilmer Instititute) and The Drepung Gomang Monastery. Her life mission is to create opportunities to explore our human potential and use yogic and mindfulness-based spirituality to create a sense of greater peace and ease for individuals and communities.

Amy Longcrier began practicing asana in 2006 when she decided she’d like to touch her toes. Years passed and she realized not only could she touch her toes with (relative) ease, she just felt really good when she was practicing regularly. Inspired by this feeling she began to explore what else yoga had to offer and was so impressed with what she found she took the plunge and got her Teacher Training certificate through the Jivan teacher training program at Baltimore Yoga Village. Amy began practicing AcroYoga with Jean-Jacques Gabriel in 2008 and quickly found she had a knack for basing. She fell in love with this exciting connected practice instantly. She’s now a certified AcroYoga teacher. Amy has also been training with Lin Junming, a real Chinese Acrobat, for the last year and performing partner acrobatics with Kelly Marburger. Amy is a Stormwater Engineer focusing on natural treatment systems and ecology at Biohabitats, Inc. Amy regularly plays many sports and lawn games, and tries to garden.

      Eateries and Groceries

There are a number of amazing restaurants and food options near Sid Yoga Center, right in the heart of Towson’s city. Zias Cafe, San Sushi Too/Thai One On, 7 West Bistro Grille, The Health Concern and Indian Cuisine are within walking distance and are highly recommended.  Traders Joes and Starbucks are also within walking distance. Towson has a Fresh Market (comparable to Whole Foods) and is only a 1/2 mile away.  Atwater’s cafe and MOM’s organic market are about a 5 minute drive.

      Weather & Clothing

Early Fall in Maryland is warm and pleasant with average daily temperatures in the upper 70′s and lows in the mid 60′s. During program, plan to wear sportswear acceptable for practicing yoga (wicking material, no cotton) and bring layers to cover up during seated discussion or partner work. There are often 2-3 yoga asana practices throughout the day, so we recommend bringing at least two changes of yoga clothes.

      Accommodations

The Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel and The Towson University Marriott Conference Hotel are two great nearby lodging options. Both are located within a 1/2 mile of the studio.  The Holiday Inn in Timonium is 5 miles away (estimated travel time is 10 minutes). Baptiste does not have a group rate set up at a specific hotel, we find that our participants tend to prefer to make their own arrangements.

We recommend Christopherson Business Travel should you wish to book your
flights, lodging, or ground transport for your training.

      Cancellation Protection

Travel Guard offers affordable trip protection plans that guard against an extensive list of reasons for cancelation.  Specifically, we recommend The Gold plan from Travel Guard which offers you protection against: trip cancelation, baggage loss or delay, medical expenses and other issues that could occur while you are away from home.  We are happy to put together a custom quote for you.  You may either call us or visit Travel Guard online.

This offer is available to those who are US and Canadian residents only, however if you reside outside of those countries we do recommend that you make arrangements for travel protection elsewhere

Teacher, performer, counter-cultural icon, lover of God:
Bhagavan Das is as rich and manifold as Existence itself

Bhagavan Das is one of the last living cultural icons of the 60′s. As Ram Das’s mentor (author of Be Here Now) he ushered in the New Age Spiritual Movement being the first Kirtan Artist in America. His groundbreaking album “Ah” (1971) produced by Jimmi Hendrix’s manager Michael Jeffrey’s was the first World Music album from Electric Ladyland. Bhagavan Das has also toured with Allen Ginsberg, opened for the Grateful Dead and sang with Bob Dylan.

Bhagavan Das’s rare and sacred offering to this world is like a singing
open heart heralding the Guru’s Grace through the vehicle of Sound.
