This workshop is in a class format. Unwind and de-stress. Ease into a healing yoga practice that releases tension in your body and stress in your mind. This practice is about conscious movement, feeling, and connecting inward. You will be guided through a sequences of postures that are simple, yet with longer holds to exercise deeper tissues. At times you will be supported with blocks and bolsters as you hold the postures to help your body open up on a deeper level. Open up to achieve optimal health and vitality. You will come away from this class feeling clear, expansive, and relaxed. The perfect compliment to your Power Vinyasa practice.

Family yoga encourages families to breathe and practice together. In this workshop, you will engage in both an individual practice and partner activities. Participants will move through breathing exercises, yoga postures, and activities to deepen an awareness to the self and to your partner(s). You will walk away feeling refreshed, renewed, and more connected to those you share the workshop with.

Learn how to tune up your body!

Have you ever gotten a massage and thought to yourself, “I need this more often”? Have you ever used a foam roller and thought, “there must be a better way to do this”?

 

 In this workshop you will learn how to use easy techniques and inexpensive tools to relieve aches and pains, enhance breathing function, increase mobility, energize, reduce stress, improve posture, and increase your performance.

 

We will cover every area of your body teaching you self-myofascial release techniques. All of these techniques will be easy for your replicate. All participants will receive a complimentary lacrosse ball (which you will learn how to use), and other tools will be available for purchase at the workshop as well.

 

Please pre-register to guarantee that we have a lacrosse ball for you to take (there will be some extras for late registration which will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.)

 

No previous knowledge needed; good for Yogis and Yoginis of all levels!

Join SYC as we do a 21-day cleanse as a community that will help you to shed any heaviness and have you feeling light and reenergized for the holiday season. The cleanse is based on a partial food fast our fellow SYC instructor, Crystal Milana, has done for several years called the Daniel Fast. The fast consists of eating all fresh non-processed foods to give your body a kick start into eating cleaner and more fresh to get out of the habit of eating the comfort foods we all enjoy.

There are two different options in the fast depending on how far you want to take it. We will support and encourage each other through social media. We encourage you to keep a food journal to help you stay on track and share recipes with the community.

As you sign up for the fast, SYC will send you the two different options. This fast is applicable to anyone looking to lighten up and shine from the inside out! It is not a cleanse where you can only eat raw foods, drink certain juices etc. You will find yourself being able to eat a variety of foods from fruits to vegetables, legumes, grains, almond milk and even some meats (depending on what option it is you choose).

This is where we can meet together and have discussion on why we are doing the cleanse, tools to help you through the cleanse and get different recipes and meal ideas. We will open with a meet and greet, then a short meditation to clear our minds. Please bring your journal with you, as well as an open heart and mind for this journey together.

We all have an operating system and in many cases it has limited our connection to our infinite power. We have come into this mode of operation from the fear of losing love in some way. By learning how to shift our operating system we are able to see our world from a new perspective. As we land in this new perspective we are then able to live an amazing life from a deeper state of love.

Life Training II is the next step in this training for all people.  You have completed Life Training I, and this next step is to open a new space for yourself. A yoga practice is not required! Yoga is not involved in this Life Training, so please get your practice in before or after. This is a study group that will help you dive deep into yourself to open new dimensions that hold you back from landing in the most powerful you. The Life Training series is lead by Sid McNairy. Sid is the owner, founder and operator of Sid Yoga Center in Towson, Maryland and the author of Walking with Love and Empowerment and Beyond.   •  Street parking: Meters run 8am- 6pm Friday and Saturday. Free street parking on Sunday.
  • Towson Town Center: Free. The mall parking garages, located 3 blocks away in walking distance.

Eateries and Groceries
There are a number of amazing restaurants and food options near Sid Yoga Center, right in the heart of Towson’s city. Zias Cafe, San Sushi Too/Thai One On, 7 West Bistro Grille and Indian Cuisine are within walking distance and are highly recommended. Trader Joe’s and Starbucks are also within walking distance. Towson has a Fresh Market (comparable to Whole Foods) and is only a 1/2 mile away. Atwater’s Cafe and MOM’s organic market are about a 5 minute drive. A full operating grocery store, Safeway, is within 3/4 mile.
Weather & Clothing
Please review the weather forecast before attending your training sessions to know what to pack and wear. All training hours will be indoors. During program, plan to wear comfortable, casual clothing for seated discussions.
Accommodations
 The Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel and The Towson University Marriott Conference Hotel are two great nearby lodging options. Other affordable options in Towson are Comfort Inn and Best Western. Both are located within a 1/2 mile of the studio. The Holiday Inn in Timonium is 5 miles away (estimated travel time is 10 minutes). Embassy suites in Hunt Valley is a 12 minute drive. Sid Yoga does not have a group rate set up at a specific hotel, we find that our participants tend to prefer to make their own arrangements. At your request and consent, we will inform you of other out-of-town participants with whom you can contact and discuss sharing rooms.

Discover your inner warrior: awaken to peace and clarity

Taught by: Ken Wong
Through Ken’s 15 years of martial arts experience, he has creatively merged martial arts with yoga. It is time to teach and lift the world to a higher understanding of holding our space. Since ancient times, warriors of all cultures seek peace. In order to have peace, one must understand oneself and be fully confident in what one can accomplish. There are times where we need to stand our ground and protect our love, our land, our planet.

The intention of this workshop is to learn martial arts technique through the eyes of a yogi. Both practices seek unity through one’s mind, body, spirit, and breath. We will connect our breath to every move and keep it simple within. Learn how to position your hands and feet to deliver proper, simple, fast, and effective offensive and defensive techniques. We will experiment our rhythm, timing, and agility formlessly.

In the real world, it is not a matter what color belt you wear. Fighting is an art of simplicity.
