Join SYC as we do a 21 day cleanse as a community that will help you to shed any heaviness and have you feeling light and reenergized for the remainder of your summer. The cleanse is based on a partial food fast our fellow SYC instructor, Crystal Milana, has done for several years called the Daniel Fast. The fast consists of eating all fresh non-processed foods to give your body a kick start into eating cleaner and more fresh to get out of the habit of eating the comfort foods we all know to enjoy.

There are two different options in the fast depending on how far you want to take it. We will support and encourage each other through social media. We encourage you to keep a food journal to help you stay on track and share recipes with the community.

As you sign up for the fast SYC will send you the two different options. This fast is applicable to anyone looking to lighten up and shine from the inside out! It is not a cleanse where you can only eat raw foods, drink certain juices etc. You will find yourself being able to eat a variety of foods from fruits to vegetables, legumes, grains, almond milk and even some meats (depending on what option it is you choose).

This is where we can meet together and have discussion on why we are doing the cleanse, tools to help you through the cleanse and get different recipes and meal ideas. We will open with a meet and greet, then a short meditation to clear our minds. Please bring your journal with you, as well as an open heart and mind for this journey together.

This summer, we invite you to take your yoga practice out of the studio and onto the quiet waters of the Chesapeake Bay with our FloYo® Workshop. FloYo, AKA standup paddleboard yoga, combines all the benefits of yoga with the peace and serenity of floating on the water. Learn the foundations of SUP with an introduction on the land followed by a group paddle. Then be ready to challenge your core while putting your mind at ease with a 60 minute FloYo practice.  The signature FloYo® class consists of vinyasa yoga sequences where SUP sun salutations will flow into lengthening and strengthening poses, balance postures, breathing techniques and even a little play time on the boards. The focus of the class is having FUN while using core stability to improve the overall functioning of the body and build a stronger more balanced physique.  All paddling and yoga levels are welcome. LIVING the DREAM  is an all-day yoga flow & workshop led by master yoga instructor, Sid McNairy. Join us for a day of self-discovery, community and FUN! Whether you are brand new to yoga or a seasoned yogi, this day with Sid will leave you lighter, more focused and empowered to make your dreams a REALITY!

What is Living the Dream?

Living The Dream is an all day yoga immersion to help everyone involved discover their dream and bring it into reality.  During the immersion participant’s will be guided through a series of self study exercises and discover their dreams through a goal setting workshop led by lululemon athletica.  Participants will also take part in two yoga classes to help bring their desires into their bodies.  Living your dream comes from opening up to what is possible and having the tools to put it into action.  This immersion will provide the tools and help everyone take the steps to putting it into action. At the end of the day one participant will walk away with a free teacher training!

How Living the Dream came to be: 

Sid began Living The Dream as a Collegiate Football Coach.  To further the dream he needed to find a way to heal his body from a fused ankle due to many sports injuries, and release his asthma he had from childhood.  Sid began to see that a dream was possible through yoga and healed in every way.  As a football coach be began to teach yoga to his football team and still knew there was more to it.  Over 20 years of coaching football, teaching yoga and inspiring others Sid found his way and doors began to fly open.  lululemon had come to the first “Living The Dream” in Nashville, TN.  lululemon was made aware of Sid’s goal of traveling the world to spread peace, through their ambassador goal bomb program.  In January of 2014 lululemon helped Sid begin this dream.  This has resulted in the program today and Sid is on a mission to help everyone Live The Dream they desire.

Parking
Street parking is limited with space and time restrictions and is not recommended . There are several garages surrounding the studio for a fee. The Wells Fargo Bank has a lot available on Chesapeake Avenue. The lot is free on Saturdays. The mall parking garage, Towson Town Center is free. It located 3 blocks away, within walking distance. Jimmy’s cab: 410-296-7200 convenient cab service for Towson and Baltimore area.
Eateries & groceries
There are a number of  restaurants and food options near Sid Yoga Center, right in the heart of Towson’s city. Zias Cafe, San Sushi Too/Thai One On, 7 West Bistro Grille, The Health Concern and Indian Cuisine are within walking distance and are highly recommended. Traders Joes and Starbucks are also within walking distance. Towson has a Fresh Market (comparable to Whole Foods) and is only a 1/2 mile away. Atwater’s cafe and MOM’s organic market are about a 5 minute drive. A full operating grocery store, Safeway, is within 3/4 mile.

Weather & clothing
Please review the weather forecast before attending your session to know what to pack and wear.  All training hours will be indoors. During program, plan to wear sportswear acceptable for practicing yoga (wicking material) and bring layers to cover up during seated discussion or partner work. There will be 2 yoga asana practices throughout the day, so we recommend bringing at least two changes of yoga clothes.
Accommodations
 The Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel and The Towson University Marriott Conference Hotel are two great nearby lodging options. Other affordable options in Towson are Comfort Inn and Best Western. Both are located within a 1/2 mile of the studio. The Holiday Inn in Timonium is 5 miles away (estimated travel time is 10 minutes). Embassy suites in Hunt Valley is a 12 minute drive. Sid Yoga does not have a group rate set up at a specific hotel, we find that our participants tend to prefer to make their own arrangements. At your request and consent, we will inform you of other out-of-town participants with whom you can contact and discuss sharing rooms.

Hydration

You are responsible for maintaining a healthy level of hydration throughout the training.  Because you will be continuously sweating and losing fluids throughout asana practice, you should balance this by consistently taking in fluids.  In addition to your normal water intake, we strongly suggest that you also drink electrolyte replenishment fluid throughout each day.  The amount you will need will vary depending on your size and your activity level.  Please note that we do NOT provide Ultima or other powder; you are responsible for bringing a sufficient amount of electrolyte powder with you to maintain healthy hydration.

    • Journal and pen
    • Yoga Props: Mat, Strap, Block
    • Refillable water bottle
    • Ultima, Gatorade, or other electrolyte replenishment powder

We all have an operating system and in many cases it has limited our connection to our infinite power. We have come into this mode of operation from the fear of losing love in some way. Life Training is exactly that – a training for all people.
